Brothers and Friends,
I have the privilege of opening another edition of the SPEACONN with an abundance of excitement and good news. A lot has happened since last edition, so I’ll get right to it!
A few short months ago, our chapter returned from the Grand Chapter Conclave in San Antonio with its third consecutive Buchanan Cup. It was another Conclave for the books, with a dozen undergraduates and fifteen alumni of the chapter in attendance. The opportunity to rekindle bonds with brothers from Connecticut Alpha and otherwise is a powerful reminder of why we stay involved—and why we love SigEp. You can read more about Connecticut Alpha’s 2023 Conclave experience here.
Also in this issue you can find:
- Chapter and Alumni Updates
- An Alumni Profile with Dylan Feldmeier
- An update on our "SigEp for Life" program
- Our Calendar for the next few months
- An Update on our Annual Alumni Giving Program
You also may have noticed our new format for the newsletter. Going forward, we’ll be using Mail Chimp to publish and distribute our newsletters. We hope you find this, and future issues filled with engaging content, easy to read, and simple to navigate. As always, we welcome your feedback!
On a personal note, since our last edition, I’ve graduated law school and taken the bar. For the next year, I’ll be out in Covington, KY working as a law clerk for the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. While I have delegated a few tasks to my fellow alumni in Connecticut and won't be able to get to campus as much this year, I'm excited to continue my tenure as your AVC President.
Lastly, I hope to see many of you around this time next year at our biennial reunion. We’ll be finalizing the date and venue in early January. And, for those who like to plan in advance, the next Grand Chapter Conclave will be July 23-27, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. Having recently moved myself, I’m particularly looking forward to these opportunities to reconnect with all you. Be well until then!
In Phi,
Van Augur, '20
Alumni & Volunteer President
