CT Alpha is excited to announce the launch of a new feature of its alumni communications program – SigEp For Life, which (1) profiles alumni who continue serving SigEp well after graduation, (2) illustrates the many ways brothers can stay connected to the Fraternity, (3) shares stories of how SigEp continues to enrich brother’s lives after college, and (4) inspires our undergraduate brothers to find their purpose.
To kick things off, we highlight a new collaboration between the AVC and the chapter’s executive board. Named the “CT Alpha Alumni/Undergrad Mentorship Program,” this program serves a high priority for the undergraduates, and develops opportunities to enrich the lives of alumni by providing assistance to undergrads searching for their purpose through meaningful work after graduation.
To build the program, the AVC sent a short survey to our alumni last fall seeking information about the degrees brothers earned, the industries in which they are currently, the title that best describes their current job, and the types of mentoring activities they would be interested in joining. This data is being used to develop the following types of engagement opportunities: in-person and Zoom career panels, informational interviews, professional networking, resume critiquing, and job shadowing.
To date, we received 39 responses to our survey – thank you brothers who have responded to date! If you want to get involved, but have not yet responded, please click here to complete the survey. Interested alumni will be contacted in Q1 2023 to begin scheduling these activities.
Below is a chart showing the distribution of alumni degrees. This type of data allows us to match alumni with undergrads who have similar major/interests. This, in turn, helps to effectively build connections and facilitate conversations. There are few more rewarding things in life than helping someone find their purpose, so please engage in this important effort and we’ll keep you posted on our progress.
Future editions of the SPEaconn will profile alumni who have continued serving SigEp after graduation. Please email us at SPEaconn@gmail.com if you wish to nominate yourself or a brother you would like to see featured in an upcoming newsletter.
