Parents, brothers, and alumni all showed out for this Fall’s annual Parent’s Barbecue. Special thanks are in order for Vice President of Programming, Nick DiLibero, along with his committee members, who organized our most successful Parents Barbecue in years! Especially notable was the outstanding attendance of the parents of our new member class. The majority of our newest brothers are from outside of Connecticut, but their parents were more than happy to take a trip to UConn to experience Parent’s Weekend, and to conclude it with the SigEp Parent’s Barbecue, last Sunday. New member Hunter Victorio brought his father all the way from California, who remarked that SigEp was home for him, regardless of how far the chapter was from his Alma Mater’s..
Brothers and parents alike all joined in yard games, like SpikeBall, backyard football, and cornhole. After breaking a sweat in the sunny, warm weather, everyone came together to join in a tailgate-style feast. We thank the parents for their extraordinary generosity, providing sandwiches, chicken wings, pizza, pasta, charcuterie and hors d’oeuvres, salads, beverages, and a wide variety of desserts. The gathering was reminiscent of a Thanksgiving celebration, with its large quantities of food, games, and fun.
We at CT Alpha are very fortunate to have such a supportive and kind parent base, along with a dedicated alumni population. Another special thanks goes out to Ethan Lovallo ‘23 and John Donelly ‘23 for driving up and facilitating great conversations with the new members. Van Augur ‘20 also made the trip East for the event, traveling all the way from Cincinnati.
We look forward to next year’s barbecue and, once again, thank the parents for making the effort to come to meet our chapter.
With Virtue, Diligence, and Brotherly Love,
Sigma Phi Epsilon, CT Alpha
