Since 2015, the large leather couch in the common room of Kaplan House has been a centerpiece to the Connecticut Alpha experience. It’s where you had your recruitment interview. It’s where we voted on bids. It’s where we sat when we found out we earned our charter. It’s where you had Ritual. It’s where you watched the Superbowl, Mayweather-McGregor, and the Office. It’s where you played Fortnite and MW2.
While the Ville couch has stood the test of time valiantly, it has seen better days. Just as the Ville Couch offered you respite after a long day, the Ville Couch is now in need of respite of its own. A number of its legs are broken, and the internal frame in two sections is severely damaged.
Fortunately, it can be saved! The chapter and AVC have found a local repair shop that can help bring the couch back to its 2015 glory — but we need your help to make it happen. To help restore the common room couch, we’ve worked with the AVC set up a fundraising campaign. Can we count on your support? We’re hoping to raise $5,000 for current and future furniture repairs, but anything you can offer, even if it’s just a few dollars, can help us ensure this couch will remain a centerpiece of CT Alpha for years to come. You can give online here.
All money raised will go directly to repairing the couch, and any funds raised in excess of repair costs will be set aside as savings for future repairs and replacement. Donors who give $100 or more will be recongized as a savior of the Ville Couch on an engraved plaque in the common room.
Thank you for your support!
